Gimmicky at best
I received this free as a promotional item in a larger order. I can safely say that I'm glad I didn't pay for this.
The tripod is just a couple of inches long. While it has a surprisingly high build quality, it's totally useless. It's not heavy enough to hold up any sort of front-heavy camera (DSLRs for example). Many point and shoot cameras also have the tripod mount on one side or another, not in the center, making it impossible to balance the camera properly on the tripod without completely splaying the legs, leaving you with maybe one inch of height gain - you're better off leaving the camera on a table.
The screen protectors are thin and flimsy, but they'll probably do their job just fine. The screen protectors are giant however, and will need to be cut to the size of your camera screen.
Seeing the low quality of the other items in the kit I've been hesitant to use the lens cleaning solution on one of my actual lenses, but I've tested it on a piece of glass and it left no visible residue. I can't comment much on it otherwise.
Lastly, my favorite part of this kit by far, is the brush/blower. It's horribly cheap feeling, but it works perfectly, and that's what matters at this point.
All in all, the tripod would be useful for webcams with a tripod mount, the screen protectors are fine in you have scissors on hand, and the blower/brush are cheap but functional - and very portable.
Free! YEAH RIGHT! More like SCAM!!!
I bought a higher priced item from 47th street photo and this was offered as "FREE" with my purchase. However, this is nothing short of a SCAM. With my initial purchase I was supposed to get free shipping, that is until I added this "FREE" promotion to the cart. My shipping jumped up to $8. Don't let them fool you. 47th Street Photo is using this promotion as a scam to get their shipping cost. What a joke!
A good freebie
I received this product as a freebie through another purchase. I have already used several of the items contained in the package although the tabletop tripod is worthless unless you have a inexpensive point and shoot camera. I bought one of these at a retailer for a dollar sometime previously and could not even get it to stand stable with a small camcorder. The lens cleaning equipment and the bulb brush have already come in handy!!!!

nice kit for compact P&S
case is nice and fits G9 perfectly. spare battery lasts long. tripod is nice and compact, but won't be able to hold G9 with canon wide angle lens converter.
Good general case for the G9
The Canon PSC-5000 case covers the Canon G9 like a glove. There is no space inside for anything else, so don't expect it. If you use the neck strap,it goes on the outside of the case. The tops are like a clam shell and the magnetic snap works well. A second smaller case comes with it for one spare battery. If you need to keep extra lenses, lens hood or filters around you will need a second bag or pocket. The battery case hangs on the side of the case and makes it a bit wider than the photo usually displayed. It would have been nice to have a small battery compartment somewhere on the case, instead of outside. There is a second snap strap on one side, I suppose for the wrist strap or something else. The inside of the case is a soft material, but I find that moving the camera in and out sometimes catches the screen protect plastic that I put on. That seems unimportant, but it is something to think about. Again, it would have been nice to have a bit more storage space. When you take the lens ring off the camera to install the shade, there is no place to put the ring except your pocket. As a case, it is excellent but as a camera accessory bag, it is not good. Don't get it if you are a gear-ist because you will want to take along everything and this won't do it. Looking on the web you can find armored cases that are pretty neat, if you need even more protection at about 50% more. I am pleased with the case.Canon PSC-5000 Semi-Hard Leather Case & Opteka NB-2LH Rechargeable Lithium-ion 1200mAh Battery & Opteka Pro Cleaning Kit & Tabletop Tripod for Canon PowerShot G9 / G7 Digital Camera
Not actually the package I bought
I did not actually buy this exact kit. What I did buy was the case itself together with a small "side-saddle" case to hold a spare battery and SD card. It was just fine - no complaints.

Excellent product for amateur photographers
I am a long-time novice photographer, and I bought the G10 looking to expand upon my abilities. Although I have heard that Opteka gear is not top of the line, I must say, I'm pretty impressed with it so far. This kit came in exactly as advertised. I'm not expert, but I haven't noticed any flaws yet -- no noticeable distortion and the build quality seems pretty solid. It's got everything I need to push my photography to the next level. I know that as I work with the kit more, I probably become more cognizant of its limitations, and I'll look to upgrade piece by piece, but it's a fantastic starting point!
- Note that the front group of the wide-angle lens can be detached to leave a macro lens, so you really do have all the pieces you need for a full lens kit.
- I may replace the bag, but it is reasonably well constructed, and large enough to fit my G10 inside my National Geographic camera pouch, my G10 manual, all of the kit, my SD880IS inside a small hard case, all of the necessary cables, 2 spare batteries, and I still have room for some more stuff
- One caveate: the circular polarizer cannot be placed before the wide-angle lens -- vignetting occurs. You will need to purchase a larger polarizer to put on the front of the wide-angle lens if you want to do that
Still good for the price
Got this in the mail yesterday. Real fun to play with since there's so much stuff packed in. However, this isn't top quality stuff, not going to be taking pro photos with it - but, still a blast to play with.
The lens construction is quite good. The tele and wide angle, as well as the converter tube is a nice aluminum build. The converter tube I especially like - there were complaints about the official Canon tube being plastic and not fitting securely - this tube surpasses in both fields while being half the price if bought separately.
The tele lens, as far as I can tell, does some pretty good quality pictures, though I haven't zoomed way into my finished shots to check the clarity. However, the bulk of it plus the fact that 2.2x really doesn't get you all that further means I probably won't carry it around that much.
The wide angle lens is awesome to play with - BUT, it suffers from some realllllly bad blue fringing. Still, the wide-angle is a cool effect, and I don't think people will notice if you're doing web shots. If you're going pro and doing prints though...well, it won't be pretty.
I think the blue fringing problem comes from, or is also attributed to the macro lens, that's part of the wide angle. The macro lens is also a blast to play with. You can take some serious close ups. But again, you're going to get some drastic blue edges.
Everything else is serviceable. I was disappointed by the polarizing filter because it doesn't turn quite smoothly, and I don't think does all that great job of polarizing either. Don't really notice much of a difference in shots with the UV filter.
The cleaning kit is serviceable, but comes with one of the best parts of the kit, the mini tabletop tripod. This has bendable legs and fits in a tiny pouch.
The full-size tripod is comes with is of a cheap build. The bag is similarly icky.
But! This thing was cheap. The lens are still fun to play with, and they feel real solid. They make your G11 look cooler too. Overall, for the price and a little fun, I'd recommend the package.
Cheapy Tripod and Bag..
Lens are lens, they are good. Tripods and other items are so cheapy looking. Camera bag is NOT SAMSONITE, when asked was told bluntly, 'We don't carry Samsonite anymore.' So, I just get a cheapy looking and quality Opteka camera bag. Seller is rude and unprofessional. No notification when items were not available.
